Hello Jeremy,
I understand that Outlook is freezing after less than a minute of being open. According to Microsoft, They are aware and investigating the issue and will update the page below when more details are available. The only fix right now is to not be on OS X El Capitan as the latest version that Outlook is compatible with is OS X Yosemite. For more details, check out the first link.

I have an iMac(21.5 inch, mid 2011) running OS X EI Capitan version 10.11.6 I want toi install Microsoft Off ice on this iMac. What version of Microsoft Office is compatible with my iMac and operating read more. The new 14.5.6 update should fix this problem for Outlook users who have installed OS X El Capitan and is a much better fix than Microsoft's previous workaround, which simply suggested users run.

Since upgrading to El Capitan 10.11.6, Microsoft Office 2016 will not run on my computer. I use Outlook and Excel almost daily as well as Word and Powerpoint and none of them will even start on my computer.

Upon trying to open either of these applications, a pop up saying:

'Microsoft Outlook cannot be opened because of a problem.

Check with the developer to make sure Microsoft Outlook works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.
