• 'Seetha' Seetharaman Narayanan is Lead Adobe Photoshop Engineer. Seetharaman (or Seetha) is recognized for his amazing team working skills, ability to work under pressure and overall humble nature when it comes to taking credit for his outstanding work.
• Adobe engineering heavy hitter Seetharaman Narayanan was honored last week at Photoshop World, becoming the newest member of the Photoshop Hall of Fame.
• Narayanan said subscription is a deterrent to piracy, but won’t eliminate piracy. Shifting everything to cloud will reduce piracy to zero. However, with huge amount of data that need to processed in Photoshop, moving to cloud will be very expensive for Adobe, which need to pay for cloud service provider.
• Photoshop was written by Thomas and John Knoll in 1988; the first release was on 19 February 1999. The Knoll brothers sold the distribution licence to Adobe Systems which had been incorporated in 1988. Photoshop was first only available on the Macintosh. It was ported to Windows in 1993 by Adobe chief architect Seetharaman Narayanan.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirapalli, India. I came to the U.S to pursue my Masters in Engineering at the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Since that place was so much fun (Playboy’s number one Party School in 1987), I decided to get another Masters from there in Computer Science. “Seetharaman Narayanan” isn’t the only great-sounding name to grace the Photoshop splash screen over the years, and now Zalman Stern (who ported PS 2.5 to PowerPC, then left, started a company, and helped create Macromedia Contribute) has found his way back home. Both engineers joined their boss Dave Story plus George Jardine & Jeff Schewe to chat recently. George writes,
