Before you install, close all applications currently running on your system including other Adobe applications, Microsoft Office applications, and browser windows.
Do one of the following:
• Windows:
• Insert the DVD in your drive, and follow the on-screen instructions. If the installer does not launch automatically, navigate to the Adobe CS3 folder found at the root level on your disk and double-click Setup.exe to start the installation process.
• If you downloaded the software from the web, open the folder, navigate to the Adobe CS3 folder, double-click Setup.exe, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
  
• Mac:
• Insert the DVD in your drive, and follow the on-screen instructions. If the installer does not launch automatically, navigate to the application folder found at the root level on your disk and double-click Setup Mac OS®) to start the installation process.
• If you downloaded the software from the web, open the folder, navigate to the application folder, double-click Setup, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: In order to install additional components or reinstall your software after your original installation, you will need access to the original installer (CD, DVD or the download from the web). Before you begin additional installations or reinstallations, please make sure the installer is in the same drive or location it was during the original installation.

Before you uninstall, close all applications currently running on your system including other Adobe applications, Microsoft Office applications, and browser windows.
Do one of the following:
• In Windows XP, open the Windows Control Panel and double-click Add or Remove Programs. Select the product that you want to uninstall, click Change/Remove, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
  
• In Windows Vista, open the Windows Control Panel and double-click Programs and Features. Select the product that you want to uninstall, click Uninstall/Change, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
  
• IMPORTANT: Mac OS has new uninstall functionality. DO NOT drag applications to the trash to uninstall them. To safely uninstall on Mac OS X, double-click the product installer in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers. Authenticate as an administrator, then select Remove Components and follow the on-screen instructions.

Choose Activate from the Help menu and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: If you decide to purchase a different product than you installed for the trial, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the software. For example, if you download and install a trial of Adobe® Creative® Suite 3 Production Premium, but you decide to purchase only Adobe® Premiere Pro®, you will need to uninstall the trial version of the Suite before installing the standalone version of Illustrator that you purchased. Volume licensing customers cannot purchase from a trial directly. After evaluating a Creative Suite 3 product, you must uninstall the trial and install the product using the volume licensing media and serial number. Adobe software may include electronic license (e-license) management technology to ensure compliance with the Product License Agreement. Activate software:

If the Activation dialog box is not already open, choose Help > Activate.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: If you want to install the product on a different computer, you must first deactivate the software on your computer. To deactivate, choose Help > Deactivate.

When you install your software, be sure to register to get up-to-date product information, training, newsletters, and invitations to Adobe events and seminars. You will also receive a complimentary benefit such as the new Hypatia Sans font and a Dreamweaver Plug-In.

• On Macintosh, silent installation fails if the installation folder length is a single character. (1527377)
• On Windows Vista, an 'Activation- No connection' error screen appears when the activation link is clicked for the first time from Encore CS3, Illustrator CS3, and Flash CS3 Professional. (1524093)
• Adobe CS3 Production Premium doesn't fully install when installed to an encrypted directory. (1520265)
• On Macintosh, Illustrator CS3 crashes on quitting when Adobe CS3 Production Premium is installed on a system with a combination of the following security settings: 'File Vault' and 'Use secure virtual memory'. (1518864)
• On Macintosh, Encore CS3 fails to launch when Adobe CS3 Production Premium is installed on a system with a combination of the following security settings: 'File Vault' and 'Use secure virtual memory'. (1518851)

• On Macintosh, Adobe Bridge CS3 fails to launch when Adobe CS3 Production Premium is installed to a custom location using French characters. (1507988)

• Premiere Pro CS3, Soundbooth CS3, After Effects CS3, and Encore CS3 display a debug event error and do not launch if Adobe CS3 Production Premium is installed to a custom location having special characters (1505769)
• On Macintosh, an empty folder called 'Soundbooth' remains at '/Library/Applications Support' on the system even after uninstalling Adobe CS3 Production Premium completely. (1502742)
• On Italian, Spanish, German, and French systems, the next button is enabled (where it should be disabled) and no error message appears when the installation location is set to a Read-Only directory (1502531)
• On Windows, the Adobe CS3 Production Premium installer, when in repair mode, does not install or repair components if the location of the setup has changed from the previous installation setup location. (1486525)
• On Macintosh, when installing to a directory having more than 255*2 characters, the installer reports and invalid directory but allows installation to continue and complete. Applications then crash on launch. (1428454)
• On Macintosh, many files and folders remain on the system even after uninstalling Adobe CS3 Production Premium completely. (1410210)
• On Windows, After Effects CS3 and Premiere Pro CS3 crash after throwing a series of error messages on launch when installed incrementally via the Adobe CS3 Production Premium installer. Rebooting fixes the issue. (1525645 and 1525582)
• Premiere Pro CS3 doesn't launch when the CS3 Production Premium suite is installed over an existing installation of Premiere Pro CS3. Rebooting fixes the issue. (1525064)

• Dependent components (Protected and Third Party content) of a product can be installed even if the product has not been selected for installation. (1527419)
• New compositions created from Encore CS3 Blu-ray based projects are being created using DV settings in After Effects CS3 when using Dynamic Link. (1392325)
• After Effects CS3 projects do not appear in the Dynamic Link import composition dialog if they are located in the desktop directory on Intel based Macintosh machines. (1383273)
• Dynamic Link clips from After Effects CS3 that have a background Color assigned appear with a black background in Encore CS3. (1329068)
• The motion menu duration field in Encore CS3 does not update/display changes that were made to the duration of a linked composition in After Effects CS3 using Dynamic Link. (1263443)

• PAL and NTSC HDV files do not display thumbnails in Bridge CS3 on Macintosh (1410877)
